Deaf Community in Queenstown 🤟🏼☝🏼

Published on : November 27, 2024

Did you know that there is a Deaf Community in Queenstown? It’s called COOS MinDeaf, which is a unique community of deaf and hearing friends, supporting one another emotionally, spiritually and just hanging out.

It meets every Sunday at the 10:45 am Church Service at Church of Our Saviour, 130 Margaret Drive, Singapore 149300, where sign language interpretation of the songs and messages help to make the service meaningful for the deaf.

COOS MinDeaf also conducts Sign Language classes, builds friendships over regular gatherings, provide sign language interpretation for a myriad of needs — for example, meetings with social services and the like.  The hearing friends from MinDeaf are at different levels of Sign Language proficiency (be it ASL, SGSL, or SEE), but they are all are keen to learn from each other, so that lines of communication remain open and that they can better understand the deaf community.

Contact us if you are deaf person, or a hearing person who signs, or if you are keen to learn sign language.  We would be happy to connect you with COOS MinDeaf.
